Grungy Steampunk Mixed Media Canvas + Tutorial by Dutt Preety

Hi friends! Hope you are having a great day :)
Since New Year is almost here, I want to wish all the beautiful fans of Fantasy a Happy, Healthy and Creative 2020 :)
For today's post, I've created a Grungy Steampunk Mixed Media Canvas.
I've used some gorgeous Fantasy Dies & Chipboards on my project.
I wanted to create a vintage, rusty, masculine look.
I've used Lindy's Gang sprays here along with mediums, waxes and stencil by Finnabair & Prima Marketing. I've also used metal embellishments by Mitform Castings and papers by AB Studio for the layering.
There is a Step-by-Step Pictorial of the Process.

Fantasy Chipboards Used: "Стимпанк 347""Часы 583"

Step-by-Step Pictorial:
1. Applied heavy white gesso to a square shaped canvas. Then, for background texture, applied modelling paste through a stencil onto the canvas.

2. To color the canvas, first sprayed it with Lindy's Gang Spray- Time Travel Teal. Then, added some shine by highlighting some of the textures using Finnabair's metallic waxes.

3. Prepared the elements for layering. Colored Fantasy die cuts and chipboards using Vintage Photo Archival Ink and Prima Waxes. Also, fussy cut paper elements from AB Studio papers, distressed their edges. Colored some metal embellishments by Mitform Castings using Prima Waxes. Layered and adhered all the elements to the canvas using Gel Medium.

4. In the end, added more texture & shine by adhering glass glitter and art stones to some areas using Soft Matte Gel. Then to add rust, applied Finnabair's rust paste and Lindy's Gang Spray- Canna Lily Burnt Orange to some of the areas. Lastly, created white ink splatter using watered down white acrylic paint and distressed the edges of the canvas with waxes and Vintage Photo archival ink.
